Rehearsing Consciousness
Written & Performed by Martin Moran (Spamalot, Cabaret, The Tricky Part), Directed by Seth Barrish (Sleepwalk With Me, The Tricky Part)
Sneak preview in advance of its World Premiere off-Broadway! In his developing solo show, Obie winner Martin Moran takes us on a ride from Johannesburg to Colorado to backstage on Broadway, weaving a tale of midlife hilarity and heartbreak as he uncovers the unexpected connections between a New York actor and an African refugee, between rage and forgiveness, laughter and liberty.
Dreamers & Demons: The Three Worlds of Isaac Bashevis Singer
Sneak Preview with Isaiah Sheffer!
Join Isaiah Sheffer, celebrated host of NPR's Selected Shorts, and Kathryn Markey (Broadway actor and member of the satirical country band, The Chalks, featured on Comedy Central) as they perform excerpts of his new play, based on published stories, sketches, interviews and his personal conversations with Nobel Prize-winning author Isaac Bashevis Singer. The play evokes Singer's three worlds: the Eastern European shtetl; the refugee Jews of Coney Island, The Bronx, and Miami Beach; and the demons, dybbuks and spirits that filled the writer’s imagination.
June 10th @ 8 pm
A Visit From The Goon Squad:
an evening of short stories & live music
From best-selling novelist Jennifer Egan (The Keep, Look At Me), a spellbinding new book that circles Bennie Salazar, an aging former punk rocker and record executive, and Sasha, the passionate, troubled young woman he employs. Bennie and Sasha never discover each other's pasts, but the reader does, in intimate detail. Two of these sly, surprising stories will be read by established actors (last season's readers were John Shea, Dennis Boutsikaris, and Matthew Arkin - check back here for announcements), with a live musical interlude.
Tickets are $25 each. Subscribe and save 25%!
